Our Story

Cherokee Outlaw Ranch is a nonprofit therapeutic equine center located in Willis, Texas — nestled just 13 miles northeast of town on the edge of Sam Houston National Forest. We rescue horses and use them to help people heal.

Whether you’re a child navigating emotional challenges, an adult recovering from trauma, or simply someone looking for a genuine Texas experience on horseback, our ranch offers the space, the horses, and the people to meet you where you are.

Our Mission

We utilize the unique spirit of horses to aid children and adults in overcoming challenges, fear, and abuses that have left them scarred. We rescue horses and use them to communicate with those who are going through difficult situations — whether physical, emotional, psychological, mental, or social.
